Face balance is really just a putter's CG placement described a different way — where the mass sits relative to the shaft axis decides how much the face wants to rotate through your stroke.
Stroke Arc First, Then Head Selection
We capture your stroke path on video and a motion sensor to see how much the putter face naturally rotates open and closed. A face-balanced head, with CG stacked directly under the shaft, suits a straighter-back-straighter-through stroke; a toe-hang design suits a stroke with real natural arc.
From there we test length and lie against your setup posture — measured, not guessed from height — so your eyes sit correctly over the ball without forcing an unnatural stance.
What We Check Beyond Toe Hang
Head Weight
Heavier heads suit faster greens and a quieter stroke tempo; lighter heads help on slower surfaces where more feel through the stroke matters.
Length & Lie
Set from measured posture, not a standard 34″ or 35″ default, so your eye line sits where it should over the ball.
Grip Style
Oversized and pistol grips change how much the hands can rotate the face — a real variable for anyone fighting a wandering start line.
